Merry Christmas! New Segment: EV Fast Five⚡️

December 24th, 2024

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I wish you all a safe and happy holiday season. I hope you are all spending time with your family, friends and loved ones. This will be the last issue for 2024 and will be back in 2025!

While watching the movie “That Christmas” with my family recently, I came across this thought-provoking quote:

I always think that Christmas is a bit like an emotional magnifying glass.
If you feel loved and happy, Christmas will make you feel even happier and more loved.

But if you feel alone and unloved, the magnifier gets to work
and makes all those bad things bigger and worse.

That Christmas (Movie, 2024)

So be kind, understanding and sympathetic to those around you this holiday season as you never know what people may be going through or what they are feeling.

Now to introduce to you, a new weekly segment that I will be sending out each week (in addition to the weekly newsletter). It’s called EV Fast Five and it will be 5 pieces of EV content, whether from X/Twitter, YouTube or LinkedIn, that

There’s a ton of EV content out there - there are around 500M daily tweets and, 720K hours of video uploaded daily to YouTube.

Out of all this content there’s only a few key pieces that are worth paying attention to.

Hoping to see more charging hubs such as this everywhere. As time moves on and the EV transition progresses I believe we will see gas stations converted to EV charging hubs such as this. These charging hubs will still offer snacks and drinks as a separate revenue stream from their revenue earned from people charging. Strong wi-fi will also be a must!

Garbage cans and vacuums would be another upsell to customers!

New Tesla Auto-shift that go from drive to reverse or reverse to drive automatically without having to use the screen to change gears as long as two satisfy two conditions: brake pedal is activated and steering wheel is turned in the proper direction as if you were going to make a turn in reverse. You don’t even need to take your hands off the wheel!

Honda and Nissan have officially entered discussions for a potential merger. The two companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore integrating under a new holding company. Some web sources say that Mitsubishi might join the club as well. This is an attempt to be more competitive as they have fallen behind in the EV transition and are trying to make up for lost time as non-legacy automakers are gaining more and more market share.

If the merger proceeds (set to take place officially in 2025), the collaboration could bring several benefits, including shared platforms for internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) models, reduced development costs, and optimized production capabilities for both brands. Despite the integration, Honda and Nissan will retain their individual brand identities, operating as subsidiaries under the new holding company.
