To our neighbours to the south, happy 4th of July! Check out some of the best EV deals that come with 0% financing! The Chevrolet Equinox EV and Blazer EV are definitely worth looking into!

Lots of terrible, horrible things happening down there at the moment but I hope that this time next year I won’t be saddened by the political landscape and fearful for family in friends in the US.

Jason from Engineering Explained goes in-depth on the Hyundai Ioniq 6. While there are performance EVs out there, most of them come with a hefty price tag. or selling your soul and becoming a Tesla hard core, all or nothing, all-in fanperson. Just kidding!

Anticipated as a 2026 model year, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 N is expected to retail for around $68,000! Not very affordable! However, if you have the spare cash, this model might be worth looking at as it is set to outmatch many competitors in the performance EV sedan space. Most of the EVs (Tesla Model 3, Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, EV6 GT) can keep up or beat a lot of performance ICE vehicles.

Looking forward to hearing more on the Ioniq 6 once more details are released closer to the end of the year!

June 28th, 2025 - the day that a Tesla drove itself from the factory to the purchaser’s home. Some might glance passed this significant event and others will rightfully be impressed with this feat. Not all of you are Tesla fans, hard to say if I’m a Tesla fan either… but I am a fan of progress. Progress is what’s shown here. Progress is what has been accomplished. Imagine telling your younger self that the vehicle you purchase in the future will drive itself to you? Crazy. I mean, it’s not a flying car, but it’s something!

The Canadian Government is facing some heavy pressure from Ford, GM, and Stellantis to scrap its zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) sales mandate, citing weak EV demand, supply chain risks, and looming U.S. tariffs. The automakers warn they can’t meet the 2026 ZEV targets without cutting gas car production or buying credits. Despite falling EV sales, the Government of Canada says the mandate is key to its climate goals.

There needs to be some balance when it comes to climate goals. I don’t see legacy automakers reaching the mandated goals without government incentives - but what level of incentives are the right amount? For example, net profit for Stellantis in 2024 was just under $8-Billion (CAD), so it’s hard to make a case that incentives are the end all, be all for the company.
