BREAKING: Norway is set to become the first country to fully transition to electric vehicles. The country's electric vehicle sales have increased from less than 1% of total auto sales in 2010 to a massive 88.9% in 2024.

Extremely impressive electric vehicle growth in Norway. They are a role model for Canada as they also have a cold climate and renewable energy technologies to reduce environmental impact by making the switch from ICE to EV.

Where has Polestar been? Back in 2020 when the Polestar 2 hit the Canadian roads I thought “Okay, they’re on to something!” but since then… have they truly evolved into anything significant? The Polestar 3 looks sensational and the technology is top notch, but with a starting price tag of $96,000 - it’s far from the Polestar 2 ($59,900 for the Launch Edition in 2020) that signaled a level of affordability in the EV market. Since the launch in 2020, it seems to me, that little to no innovation has been brought to consumers without nearly doubling the cost of their product.
Now you can get a used Polestar 2 within Canada starting at the $25,000 mark for a 2021 model year.
Check out the following link for Autotrader listings: LINK
My question would be - are used Polestar 2’s worth it? Are they still relevant? Let me know what you think and let me know if you have a Polestar 2!

Shared this video in the weekly newsletter issue but also wanted to share it here because it’s pretty rare that Canada gets something that the US doesn’t.
That said, the Kia EV5 is definitely on my radar as it reminds me of a smaller EV9. We’ll see how it stacks up in terms of price against other competitors that are releasing similar EVs in the small SUV/Larger Crossover category. I’m thinking it will compete against the Volvo EX30, VW ID.4 and other similar EVs. It is set to be released just before the Rivian R2, so we’ll see how that plays out at the beginning of 2026.
