EV Fast Five⚡️
March 28th, 2025

What do you think of The EV Fast 5 logo above? This was generated via AI on the very first prompt. Turned out way better than I expected based on a short simple prompt.
Welcome to the EV Fast Five where I share with you EV content worth paying attention to. There’s a ton of EV content out there - around 500M daily tweets and, 720K hours of video uploaded daily to YouTube.
Out of all this content there’s only a few key pieces that are worth paying attention to, and there are 5 of them below 👇️

Maybe you recently purchased an EV (ie within the past 3 years) or maybe you’re looking at purchasing your first EV and wondering how it will hold up once it’s 5 years old. Will I still get the same range as when I first bought the vehicle? How badly will my battery degrade? Simply put: your full range will deplete. By how much depends on the type of battery and the battery specifications. Most EVs have around a 2% per year degradation rate. Most manufacturers cover their batteries for at least 8 years and/or 180,000 km.

Looking for a large family SUV? Chances are, you looked at both the VW ID Buzz and the Kia EV9. Check out the above video as CarGurus UK takes a look at both of them and compares their specs and features.
Which would you choose?
Personally, I’m not a fan of VWs and even though the ID Buzz seems to be a good value, I would have to go with the Kia EV9.

Rivian CEO, RJ Scaringe and VP of Autonomy & AI, James Philbin, show off and demonstrate the Enhanced Highway Assist that come with Gen 2 Rivians.
As they continue on their drive, they discuss the future of Rivian’s AI and autonomy platform. While this would not be new when compared to Tesla or Chinese-made EVs, it is interesting to hear how they’ve built this technology from the ground up and their approach to AI and autonomy.

Here’s a great real world example of a true EVer and clean energy conscious person, Cory Allen discussing his thought process on owning an electric vehicle and how that progressed into going solar for his energy needs.

I’m heading to Electric Autonomy’s EV and Charging Expo! Taking place May 14th to 15th in Toronto, this is a great opportunity to learn, discuss and network with the EV industry. You’ll also get the opportunity to get behind the wheel of electric passenger cars, vans, and trucks!
You can buy your tickets here: https://evandchargingexpo.com/
If you are also attending and would like to meet up, please let me know or come find me! Always happy to discuss EVs!
I am not affiliated with Electric Autonomy or The EV & Charging Expo, I’m just a fan of promoting EVs and great events to help educate the public and connect with like-minded people!
