Canadian E-Bike company iGO offers Aspire Model Range.

iGO Electric is a Canadian company based in Montreal, Quebec where the team designs, engineers and markets their products. They are working to forge an active and sustainable future. iGO Electric was founded in 2006 and has been delivering high quality product and customer service at affordable prices.

iGO Electric has just released their Aspire series of electric bicycles that are designed with leisure and utility in mind. The Aspire lineup has two “trims” that include the Camillien and the Vendome. The Camillien is a $2,600 CAD e-bike that looks like a traditional road bike and is meant for riders who are looking to take their bike on more complicated routes than from simply A-to-B. The Camillien weighs 18.2 kg and is definitely more sportier than the Vendome.

The Vendome comes with some practical components such as a rear rack and integrated lights. The Vendome is priced at $2,500 CAD and weighs 17.8 kg. Both models are powered by a 36V, 375Wh battery which provides a top speed of 45 km/h and a 90km range.

Lotus Eletre, the Hyper-SUV with high-tier specs and luxury.

Details have been released regarding the Eletre, the all-electric hyper-SUV from Lotus, that lived and breathes exceptional handling, exhilarating performance and power without compromise. The Eletre will be produced with 3-trim levels, Eletre, Eletre S, and Eletre R. The first two will produce approximately 600hp, where the top trim R, will produce 905 hp via an AWD twin electric motor setup with a top speed of 250km/h and a 0-100km/h in 2.95 seconds. Utilizing an 800V industry-leading EV battery architecture, the Eletre can charge up 400km of range in just 20 minutes and will have a range of approximately 600km. The battery architecture also allows for 350kW DC capability to get those fast charging speeds while on the go.

The Eletre has an elegant and exotic aesthetic design which includes active aerodynamics. The Eletre has some very unique characteristics, such as a rear light blade that indicates battery levels and glows green while charging.

The Eltre utilizes LiDAR systems to scan 200 metres around the car, 360-degrees in every direction, generating a clear 3D map of the surroundings even in less than ideal weather and lighting conditions.

The interior contains custom lighting options. The intelligent lighting reacts to the driving mode, exterior environment, app option and battery indications. Stepping inside the interior will call your attention through the roof of the Eletre's panoramic sunroom which provides spaciousness and the ability to dim for shading or privacy. Also bolstered inside the interior is a 23-speaker, 2160W sound system which has been engineered by KEF for a truly immersive in-car audio experience.

The High Definition 15.1-inch OLED central screen works in tandem with the digital passenger display for media, navigation, and car system control. Rear passengers can enjoy their own high-definition media screen, streaming content from the connected app. Soundstage controls the sounds within the cabin to not distract the driver.

688 litre trunk with hands-free opening makes it easier to load items into the Eletre's spacious trunk. If you were to fold down the rear seats you would have 1532 litres of storage. The frunk offers 46 litres of storage for small items.

The base price for the Lotus Eletre is approximately $140,000 CAD with the R expecting to reach a price of $188,000 CAD reservations can now be made on the Lotus website here.

The United States Department of Justice is investigating approximately 12 crashes involving Tesla Autopilot.

Tesla Autopilot, software that Tesla says is a precursor to fully autonomous vehicles is described by the company as:

"Autopilot enables your car to steer, accelerate and brake automatically within its lane. Current Autopilot features require active driver supervision and do not make the vehicle autonomous."

Tesla vehicles come standard with the driver-assist feature, Autopilot. However, for an additional $15,000USD, owners can purchase the full self-driving (FSD) option, which company CEO Elon Musk has repeatedly promised will one day enable fully autonomous capabilities. So far, FSD is a “Level 2” advanced driver-assistance system, meaning the driver must stay fully engaged in the operation of the vehicle while it’s in motion.

Tesla has said 160,000+ customers are currently using FSD and has promised a wider release of the software by the end of 2023.

Tesla is currently facing a criminal probe over its claims about its driver assist technology. The US Department of Justice launched an investigation following more than a dozen crashes, that occurred last year, some of which were fatal and also involved the company’s Autopilot feature.

The Department of Justice is not the only government body investigating Tesla. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is currently investigating 16 crashes in which Tesla vehicle owners using Autopilot crashed into stationary emergency vehicles, resulting in 15 injuries and one fatality.

A Justice Department investigation represents a higher degree of scrutiny since, Tesla or its executives could be charged criminally. Federal prosecutors in Washington and San Francisco are examining whether Tesla misled consumers, investors, and regulators by making unsupported claims about its driver assistance technology’s capabilities.
